About Our Founder
Born in Opelika, Alabama, and raised in the red hills and hay fields of Greenville, Brooks grew up the son of a dedicated veterinarian. His early years in rural Alabama instilled in him a deep appreciation for hard work, community, and integrity.
After graduating from Troy State University with a degree in Business Administration, Brooks spent a decade in marketing before turning his attention to real estate. He began pursuing his appraisal certification in 1999, earning his license in 2001 and full certification in 2006. That same year, he founded River Region Appraisals, an independent firm focused on delivering honest, data-driven property valuations throughout central Alabama.
Brooks brings over two decades of appraisal expertise to Roost Report, blending real-world industry insight with a passion for providing homeowners and investors with transparent, accurate property data.
He has been married since 1991 to Dawn, a microbiologist and proud Auburn University alum. Together, they raised two children, Anna Marie and Colton Brooks, both Auburn graduates and the pride of their lives.
In his spare time, he enjoys playing chess and is a regular contributor to local talk radio, where he's affectionately known as "Pappa B."
